Removing Tank Vent Valve (V6 BITURBO)

Information 

  1. Loosen clamp -1-  and pull hose -2-  off the tank vent line -3-  .

  2. Unclip retaining clips -1-  from tank vent line -2-  .

  3. Loosen engine wire harness (cylinders 1 to 3).

    > WM, 975219 REMOVING AND INSTALLING ENGINE WIRE HARNESS

    1. 3.1 Release and disconnect electric plug connections -1-  .
    2. 3.2 Unclip electric lines -2-  from cable duct -3-  and set them aside.

    3. 3.3 Release and disconnect electric plug connections -1-  .
    4. 3.4 Unclip retaining clip -2-  and expose electric wire harness -3-  so that the tank vent line is accessible.

  4. Disconnect tank vent line -3-  (cylinders 1 to 3).
    1. 4.1 Release and disconnect quick connector -2-  .
    2. 4.2 Unclip tank vent line -3-  from retaining clip -4-  .
    3. 4.3 Pull active carbon filter valve -1-  off the holder.

  5. Make sure you can access the tank vent line.
    1. 5.1 Release and disconnect electric plug connections -1 and 2-  .
    2. 5.2 Carefully move electric wire harness -3-  aside to allow access to the tank vent line.

  6. Remove tank vent lines -2 and 3-  from turbochargers.
    1. 6.1 For easier access, remove oil filter.

      > 170117 DRAINING AND FILLING ENGINE OIL

    2. 6.2 Unscrew fastening screws -1-  .
    3. 6.3 Disconnect tank vent lines -2 and 3-  from turbochargers. Replace sealing rings.

  7. Loosen engine wire harness (cylinders 4 to 6) and move it aside to allow access to the tank vent line.

  8. Expose holder -3-  .
    1. 8.1 Pull solenoid valve -1-  with vacuum lines connected off the holder -3-  .
    2. 8.2 Pull tank vent valve -2-  with lines connected off the holder -3-  .

  9. Remove holder -4-  .
    1. 9.1 Unscrew fastening screws -2 and 3-  .
    2. 9.2 Lift up holder -4-  until pressure sensor -1-  is accessible.
    3. 9.3 Unclip pressure sensor -1-  from holder -4-  and remove holder -4-  .

  10. Remove tank vent line -4-  .
  1. 10.1 Release and disconnect quick connector -1-  .
  2. 10.2 Disconnect vacuum line -3-  and guide it out between the tank vent lines -4-  .
  3. 10.3 Release and disconnect quick connector -2-  .
  4. 10.4 Disconnect tank vent line -4-  and guide it out carefully.
