Preliminary Work

Remove timing chain from the camshafts.
> Removing and installing timing chain (V6 Turbo)
Remove fuel injectors.

Remove solenoid hydraulic valves for valve li adjustment.
> Removing and installing solenoid hydraulic valve for valve lift adjustment (V6 Turbo)
Loosen main wire harness in engine compartment and move it aside.

Only for removing cylinder head cover on right cylinder bank:
1. 5.1 Remove tank vent valve.
  > Removing and installing tank vent valve (V6 monoturbo)
2. 5.2 Remove the high-pressure pump.
  For V6 biturbo:
  
  > Removing and installing high-pressure pump (V6 biturbo)
  
  For V6 monoturbo:
  
  > Removing and installing high-pressure pump

Remove holder for solenoid valves -1- .

6.1 Pull solenoid valves -2- off the holder -1- and set them aside.
6.2 Unscrew nuts on holder -3- .

6.3 Remove holder -1- .

Only for removing cylinder head cover on left cylinder bank:
1. 7.1 Remove oil mist separator.
  > Removing and installing oil mist separator (V6 Turbo)
2. 7.2 Remove brake booster vacuum pump.
  > Removing and installing brake booster vacuum pump
Remove lower part of sound insulation.
