Removing Double-Clutch Transmission

  • Risk of squashing or crushing 

    → Secure components to prevent them from falling down.

  1. For all-wheel drive vehicles: 
    1. 1.1 Remove connecting shaft -3-  .

      Using impact puller 9799

      1. 1.1.1 Fit > 9799 - impact puller  using 4 screws -2-  at the groove in connecting shaft -3-  .
      2. 1.1.2 Remove connecting shaft -3-  using > 9799 - impact puller-1-  from all-wheel final drive -Arrow-  .
  2. Disconnect B+ line -1-  and terminal 50 line -6-  .
    1. 2.1 Unscrew B+ line -1-  on the generator.
      1. 2.1.1 Pull off cover -2-  on generator -Arrow-  and unscrew nut -3-  .
    2. 2.2 Release and disconnect cable plug for terminal 50 -5-  .
    3. 2.3 Unscrew screw -7-  .
    4. 2.4 Unclip B+ line -1-  and terminal 50 line -6-  from fastening points -4-  .
    5. 2.5 Remove wiring harness.

    B+ line

  3. Remove ATF line -2-  and disconnect cable plugs -4 and 5-  on the transmission.
    1. 3.1 Place collection pan under the transmission.
    2. 3.2 Loosen screw -1-  on transmission -6-  and remove it. Close off openings using suitable stoppers.
    3. 3.3 Loosen and unscrew screw -3-  on ATF line holder.
    4. 3.4 Release and disconnect cable plugs -4 and 5-  on the transmission.

  4. Suspend transmission using > VAS 6100 - workshop crane  and > 9932 - transmission mount-1-  .
    1. 4.1 > 9932 - Align transmission mount-1-  with the transmission with the help of another person and screw in bolts -Arrows-  .
    2. 4.2 > VAS 6100 - Workshop crane  must be positioned above the transmission and > 9932 - connected to the  transmission mount -1-  .
    3. 4.3 > VAS 6100 - Lift workshop crane  up slightly.
    4. 4.4 Remove rear support -2-  from the transmission support.

  5. Support the engine.
    1. 5.1 Place a plastic or wooden base -1-  under the engine. Do not damage pulse sender -2-  .
    2. 5.2 Lower the workshop crane until the engine is positioned on base -1-  .

  6. Remove the transmission.
    1. 6.1 Unscrew screws -1 and 2-  .
    2. 6.2 Remove holder -3-  .
    3. 6.3 Carefully guide out the transmission with the help of another person.
