Removing Coolant Regulator (Thermostat Insert)

CAUTION:
Pointed or sharp objects
- Risk of cracks, pricks or cuts
→ Wear personal protective gear.
- Unclip air guide -1-
and remove it by pulling it down.
Removing air guide
- V6 biturbo only:
Remove suction hose -1- .
- 2.1 Loosen screw-type clamps -2- .
- 2.2 Disconnect suction hose -1- .
Removing suction hose
- Remove coolant pipe -2-
.
- 3.1 Unscrew screws for coolant pipe -1- .
- 3.2 V6 monoturbo: Remove coolant pipe -2- .
V6 biturbo: Pull off coolant pipe -2- and set it aside.

- Release and disconnect electric plug connection for coolant regulator -2-

WARNING: Hot fluid- Danger of scalding
→ Let the fluid cool down.
→ Wear personal protective gear.

- Remove coolant regulator (thermostat insert) -1-

- 5.1 Unscrew screws -2- .
- 5.2 Remove coolant regulator (thermostat insert) -1- .

- Pull off seals -1-
using > VW771 - Multi-purpose tool-2-
and > VW771/37 - Puller-3-
