Installing Rear Panoramic Roof Glass Panel

CAUTION: Danger of material damage if specified curing time of adhesive is not observed! In order to ensure that the bonded joint is sufficiently strong, the following conditions must be adhered to:

The vehicle must not be used until the curing time has elapsed .
Curing time: 2 hours
Temperature: at least 10°C
Fixing time: approx. 1 hour

Information

Check stop bits .
Replace damaged or missing stop bits .

Prepare 2-component adhesive for processing.

Applying 2-component window adhesive
- 2-component window adhesive has an open time of -10 min- , i.e. apply 2-component window adhesive and join the component within this time .
- To ensure that the substance is completely mixed, apply a 30 mm long bead of fresh 2-component window adhesive to a piece of cardboard before using it .
Information
- When applying 2-component window adhesive, make sure that the adhesive bead overlaps by approx. 30 mm at the beginning and at the end .
Use a bonding gun -A- to apply 2-component window adhesive along the preliminary coat on the rear panoramic roof glass panel or on the primer as a triangular bead measuring -X = approx. 15 mm- .

Information
- The help of another person is required .

Insert rear panoramic roof glass panel -4- into the roof cut-out on the rear panoramic roof.

3.1 Affix suction cups to the rear panoramic roof glass panel -4- .
3.2 Insert rear panoramic roof glass panel -4- into the roof cut-out on the rear panoramic roof.

3.3 Press rear panoramic roof glass panel -4- evenly onto the body.

Remove any adhesive that has oozed out immediately and clean the affected visible areas using cleaning solution -H1- .

Information

Do not screw on nuts until the window adhesive has hardened completely.
Screw in and tighten nuts -2- > Tightening torque 6 Nm (4.5 ftlb.)
