Removing Additional Pump

NOTE: Danger of scalding 
  • Coolant can be very hot. 
  • Coolant may be pressurised. 

    → Only remove the heater when the cooling system has cooled down.

    → By carefully opening the catch on the reservoir, make sure that the cooling system is depressurised.

NOTE: Danger of slipping due to emerging coolant 
  • The emerging coolant will make the floor of the workshop slippery and may cause people to slip and fall over. 

    → Collect emerging coolant in a suitable pan.

  1. Observe safety measures for working on vehicles with auxiliary heating.

  2. Close off hose -1-  and hoses -2-  using > V.A.G 1275A - hose clamp pliers  .
  3. Open spring band clamps -3-  using > VAS 6889 - spring band clamp pliers  and disconnect hoses -1-  and -2-  .

  4. Release and unplug electric plug connection -5-  .

  5. Remove additional pump -7-  .
    1. 5.1 Unscrew and remove screws -6-  .
    2. 5.2 Remove additional pump -7-  .
