Installing Front Brake Pads

WARNING: Installation of brake pads with the wrong brake pad quality 
  • Longer braking distance 
  • More wear on brake pads 

    → Only use the type-specific brake pads listed in the Porsche Parts Information.

    → Replace brake pads on both sides of axle when the brake pad wear indicator light comes on.

WARNING: Old mounting parts fitted on the brake calliper 
  • Reduced braking effect 
  • Risk of damage to the brake calliper 

    → Fit new pad retaining springs

    → Fit new fastening screws

Information 

  1. Install new  pad retaining springs.
  2. Position disc brake pads on the sealing surfaces of the pad retaining springs -arrows-  .

  3. Press disc brake pads into the brake calliper with slight pressure and push them onto the pad retaining pins -arrows-  .

  4. Install disc brake pads -arrow-  .

  5. Further installation is performed in reverse order.
  6. Screw in and tighten brake calliper screws.

    > Initial tightening 30 Nm (22.1 ftlb.) 

    > Final tightening torque angle + 90° 

  7. Secure brake line holder -5-  on wheel bearing housing and tighten screws -4-  . >Tightening torque 8 Nm (6 ftlb.)
