Installing Oil Pan

  1. Cut off the nozzle on the tube at the front marking (nozzle diameter is approx. 1.5 mm) > Applying sealant  .
    CAUTION: Oil pump suction line blocked 
    • Risk of engine damage 

    → The bead of sealant must not be too thick because if it is, excess sealant can get into the oil pan and block the strainer in the oil pump.

    Information 

    The oil pan must be installed within 5 minutes of applying the sealant.

  2. Apply a bead of sealant with a thickness of approx. 2 mm all around the cleaned and degreased oil pan. Apply a bead of sealant to the inside of the bores.

  3. Install oil pan -17-  .
    1. 3.1 Fit oil pan -17-  .
    2. 3.2 Fit new screws -1 to 16-  by hand.
    3. 3.3 Tighten screws to the specified tightening torque in the sequence -1 to 16-  > Initial tightening 3 Nm (2 ftlb.) 
    4. 3.4 Tighten screws to the specified torque angle in the sequence -1 to 16-  > Final tightening + 90°
