Connecting And Disconnecting Battery: Notes

→ Do not rub the battery with a dry cloth.
Information
Switch off all loads and remove the ignition key.
- Do not disconnect the battery while the engine is running.
- Disconnect and re-connect battery with extreme caution.

The battery is located in the luggage compartment.
- Open the luggage compartment floor.
- Remove tool kit tray.
- Unscrew ground strap on the battery:
- Risk of short circuit! Disconnect the negative cable -1-
on the battery.
Removing terminal clamps
- Route or insulate the ground strap so that all contact with a battery terminal is avoided.
- Connect the battery
- 6.1 Connect the negative cable -1- to the battery terminal and secure it with the fastening nut.

- The rear lid must be closed manually on vehicles with a Power Lift Gate (electric rear lid). Then open the rear lid with the tip switch. The rear lid must open electrically.
- Insert tool kit tray and fold down the luggage compartment tray.
