Removing Crankshaft

- Loosen bearing covers on crankshaft.
- 1.1 Mark position of bearing covers -1- .
- 1.2 Unscrew and remove screws -2 and 3- .

- Remove bearing cover -2-
using > T40332 - puller-1-
and > VW771 - multi-purpose tool

Using special tool for bearing covers
1 > T40332 - Puller 2 Crankshaft bearing covers 3 Grub screws - for securing the puller on the bearing cover 4 Threaded bores - for holding the grub screws - Remove crankshaft.
- 3.1 Remove crankshaft with the help of another person and set it down on a clean surface.
- 3.2 Remove bearing shells and place them with the relevant bearing covers.
