Preliminary Work

NOTE: NOTIFICATION 
Lifting, setting the vehicle down or moving the vehicle when the air spring system is not filled 
  • Risk of damage to the air spring bellows 
  • Replace (front} air-spring strut or (rear) air spring bellows  .

    → Deactivate the levelling system before raising the vehicle.

    → Do not raise or set the vehicle down when the air spring system is empty.

    → Moving unpressurised air spring bellows will cause them to fail; replace components.

  1. Remove hub cap.

    > 441519 REMOVING AND INSTALLING HUB CAPS - section on "Removing"

    Information 

    The help of another person is required.

  2. Loosen nut on drive shaft -1-  .
    1. 2.1  Get another person to help by pressing the brake.
    2. 2.2  Loosen nut on drive shaft -1-  .

  3. Raise the vehicle.

    > 4X00IN LIFTING THE VEHICLE

  4. For vehicles with air suspension system:  Release air from the levelling system.

    > 430117 BLEEDING AND FILLING THE LEVELLING SYSTEM

  5. For vehicles with steel suspension system:  Remove coil spring.

    > 427219 REMOVING AND INSTALLING COIL SPRING 

  6. Remove rear wheel.

    > 440519 REMOVING AND INSTALLING WHEEL - section on "Removing"

  7. Remove rear brake disc.

    > 465319 REMOVING AND INSTALLING REAR BRAKE DISC

    > 465419 REMOVING AND INSTALLING REAR PCCB BRAKE DISC

  8. Remove brake disc air guide.

    > 461619 REMOVING AND INSTALLING BRAKE DISC AIR GUIDE (REAR)
