Installing Roof Assembly

CAUTION: Danger of material damage if specified curing time of adhesive is not observed! In order to ensure that the bonded joint is sufficiently strong, the following conditions must be adhered to:

The vehicle must not be used until the curing time has elapsed.
Curing time: 2 hours
Temperature: at least 10 °C
Fixing time: approx. 1 hour

Information

If the roof assembly has only just been affixed, the doors may be closed only when the side windows are lowered on at least one door or when the tailgate is open. At least one door window must be lowered in order to close the tailgate.

Information

The fixing force of the suction cup can be increased by moistening it.

Adhesive bead
1. 2.1 Prepare Porsche 2-component window adhesive.
2. 2.2 Apply Porsche 2-component window adhesive as a triangular bead of adhesive along the residual adhesive on the roof assembly. > Application depth 15 mm

Two people are needed in order to insert and adjust the roof assembly!
Insert roof assembly -1- into the body.

1. 3.1 Guide roof assembly -1- into the body aperture.
2. 3.2 Fit and position the roof assembly -1- .
Information

Two people are needed in order to insert and adjust the roof assembly!
Align the roof assembly according to gap dimensions. > Time + 10 s
Roof assembly to windscreen: > Gap dimension 2 mm - 0.5 mm + 0.8 mm > and > Offset 1 mm - 1.0 mm + 1.1 mm

Roof assembly to rear window: > Gap dimension 2.5 mm +/- 0.8 mm > and > Offset (single-pane safety glass) 1.5 mm - 1.0 mm + 1.1 mm

Roof assembly to side panel at A-pillar: > Gap dimension 3.5 mm +/- 0.7 mm > and > Offset - 2 mm +/- 0.8 mm

Roof assembly to rear side panel: > Gap dimension 3.7 mm +/- 0.7 mm > and > Offset - 2 mm +/- 0.8 mm

Information

Tighten screws in the specified sequence.
Tighten screws -1- , -2- , -3- , -4- , -5- and -6- to > Tightening torque 8 Nm (6 ftlb.) .

Remove suction cups > V.A.G 1344 - Suction lifter .
Clean the roof assembly.
1. 7.1 Remove any adhesive that has oozed out immediately and clean the affected visible area using cleaning agent.
