Replacing Stone Guard Film

- Heat stone guard film -1-
using > V.A.G 1416 - Hot-Air Blower
and pull it off.
Removing stone guard film
- Remove adhesive residues using cleaning agent.
Information
- Bonding surfaces must be free of silicone, grease and oil residues.
- Clean the paint surface with isopropyl and rub it dry using a lint-free, moisture-absorbing cloth.
- Coat bonding area with application fluid.

Only pull off thin protective film after bonding.
Information
- Affix stone guard film immediately after spraying.
- Pull off backing sheet and coat the bonding area of the stone guard film with application fluid.
- Affix stone guard film -1-
along the front edge -2-
of the rear wheel arch with gap dimension -z-
and press it on lightly. Adjust the position slightly if necessary > Distance 3 mm +/- 1 mm
Affixing stone guard film
Information
Adhesive is activated by contact pressure. Contact pressure is at least 2 kg.
- Press on stone guard film from the inside out using a plastic squeegee to squeeze out water and bubbles.
- Pull off thin protective film.
- Dry off the entire area using a lint-free, moisture-absorbing, non-scratching cloth.
- Check affixed stone guard film.
- 10.1 Check that there are no bubbles.
- 10.2 Check that the corners are affixed correctly.
- 10.3 Press them on again if necessary.
