Preliminary Work
WARNING: This page is about a different variant/trim than selected.
- The ignition must be switched on in order to correctly check and adjust the wheel alignment of vehicles with rear axle steering. This has the effect of blocking the tie rods in the correct position.
- Connect a battery charger to ensure that no undervoltage occurs.
Information
Special points relating to vehicle adjustment:
- Toe difference angle and caster cannot be adjusted.
- Camber at the front axle cannot be adjusted. But camber can be centered evenly within the tolerance range by moving the front-axle carrier.
- Place front wheels on turntable and rear wheels on rotary/sliding plates. The sliding base and turntable must not be at the end stop during alignment.
- Centre the steering using >VAS 6826 - steering wheel alignment gauge .
