Installing C-Pillar Reinforcement

  1. Install C-pillar reinforcement and check that it fits perfectly.

    > 5X00IN GAP DIMENSIONS

    Information 

    • Apply adhesive evenly over the entire bonding surface. 

    Information 

    • Before final assembly, make sure you fully understand all the work steps involved and carry out a trial assembly without applying adhesive. 
    • The bonding process can only be carried out reliably when a smooth and swift sequence of operations is guaranteed. 
    • Do not begin bonding work until all materials and tools necessary for later repair work are available. 
  2. Apply adhesive on joint areas -A-  and -B-  of the body.

    > Application depth 0.5 mm

    Information

    • Apply adhesive evenly over the entire bonding surface. 
    1. 3.1 Apply adhesive in areas -A-  and -B-  on the C-pillar reinforcement. > Application depth 0.5 mm 
    2. 3.2 Also apply a bead of adhesive all around the bonding surfaces -A-  and -B-  . > Application depth 3 mm

  4. Rivet in C-pillar reinforcement in area -A-  . > BLIND RIVET 999.190.229.01

    Resistance spot-weld the C-pillar reinforcement in areas -B-  .

    Plug-weld the C-pillar reinforcement in areas -C-  using inert gas.

    Resistance spot-weld the C-pillar reinforcement in areas -A-  .
