Installing Windshield

CAUTION: Danger of material damage if specified curing time of adhesive is not observed! In order to ensure that the bonded joint is sufficiently strong, the following boundary conditions must be adhered to:

The vehicle must not be used until the curing time has elapsed .
Curing time: 2 hours
Temperature: at least 10°C
Fixing time: approx. 1 hour

Application time

The processing time of the adhesive at room temperature (23°C) is: 10 min. The adhesive must be applied and the component joined within this time .
To ensure that the substance is completely mixed, apply a bead of fresh adhesive that is approx. 10-20 cm long to a piece of cardboard before using it .
Also apply a bead of adhesive approx. 10 cm long to a solid surface to test it .
An adhesive set produces a bead of 6 m of adhesive. Have several adhesive sets ready if necessary .

Check stop bits and replace if necessary.

Prepare adhesive for processing.

- The adhesive bead must overlap by approx. 30 mm at the beginning and end .
Use > VAS 5237 - double cartridge gun to apply a triangular bead of adhesive with -Dimension X- along the preliminary coat or on the primer on the windshield.

Apply adhesive

> Application depth 15 mm

Information
- Two people required .
Insert the windshield into the body.
1. 3.1 Affix suction cups to the windshield.
2. 3.2 Guide the windshield into the window aperture.
3. 3.3 Position the windshield on the lower edge -Arrows A- and fit it -Arrow B- .

Inserting windshield
Adjust the windshield gaps.
> WM, 5X00IN GAP DIMENSION

> Gap dimension 2.5 mm +/- 0.5 mm

> Offset -0.6 mm +/- 0.5 mm

For vehicles with Porsche large roof system (I-no. 3FU):

> Offset -0.6 mm +/- 0.7 mm
Remove suction cups.
Secure the windshield with adhesive tape -1- to prevent it from slipping.

Securing the windshield
Remove any adhesive that has oozed out immediately, and clean the affected visible areas using the cleaning solution.
Remove adhesive tape -1- and disconnect all electric plug connections from the windshield.
