Removing Closing Cross Member (Saloon)

Information 

When replacing the closing cross member, the lower corner part must be removed on one side of the vehicle in order to move the replacement closing cross member into position from one side.

  1. Roughly cut out closing cross member (Saloon).

  2. Remove punch rivets using > VAS 852 001 - body dent removal system, aluminium  and > VAS 6790 - compact booster  .

  3. Drill through clinch points. > Diameter 6.6 mm

  4. Cut welded seam -1-  on the closing cross member (Saloon).

    Information 

    Carefully remove remaining pieces using a suitable tool. Connection points are needed for rivet joints.

  6. Remove remaining sheetmetal pieces and closing cross member (Saloon).
