Loosening Lock Carrier

  1. Unscrew screws -1-  and remove reinforcement.

  2. Loosen clamps -1-  and pull air ducts -2-  off the air cleaner housing.

  3. Disconnect electric plug connection at microswitch for lid lock.
  4. Release and disconnect electric plug connections -1 and 2-  on the charge-air coolers at the left and right.

  5. Unscrew screws -2-  and remove headlight mounting -3-  at the left and right.

  6. Secure radiator assembly on the vehicle to prevent it from falling down.
  7. Unscrew screws -1-  at the left and right on the radiator assembly -2-  .

  8. Unclip lock -1-  on radiator assembly at the left and right.

    Removing fuse

  9. Loosen screws -1-  on the lock carrier at the left and right.

  10. Loosen screws -1-  on the front bumper at the left and right.

  11. Pull the lock carrier forward.
    1. 11.1 Pull lock carrier on transverse strut forward. When moving the lock carrier, make sure that the hoses and lines are not overstrained. Disconnect them beforehand if necessary.
    2. 11.2 The maximum distance between the lock carrier and front bracket must not exceed 80 mm on both sides. Otherwise, the hydraulic and refrigerant lines will be overstrained.
