Removing Radiator

WARNING: Hot fluid

Danger of scalding
1. → Let the fluid cool down.
2. → Wear personal protective gear.

WARNING: Working with ATF

Possible danger of injury or damage (e.g. swollen hoses, skin irritation, danger of slipping, etc.)
1. → Before lines are opened, place a cloth underneath them!
2. → Components that come into contact with ATF must be cleaned IMMEDIATELY with water!
3. → Take appropriate protective measures (protective clothing, safety goggles, oil binding material)
4. → Collect emerging ATF!

NOTIFICATION

Cooling circuit not filled correctly

Risk of damage to vehicle components
1. → After relieving the system pressure, do not start the engine or high-voltage system.
2. → Fill and bleed the cooling system correctly before starting the engine or high-voltage system.

Information

After disconnecting hoses, close off all openings immediately using commercially available rubber stoppers.

When fitting parts, do not remove stoppers until shortly before installation. Likewise, do not remove the protective foil from the dryer until just before installation. The dryer absorbs moisture from the air and is then useless.

Never bend the vanes of the radiator.

Place a suitable container under the radiator to catch escaping coolant.
Remove pedestrian protection -1- at the bottom.

Pedestrian protection, bottom
1. 2.1 Unscrew screws -2 and 3- and remove pedestrian protection -1- .
Release and disconnect cable plugs for fan motors -1- .

Remove lower coolant hose -1- from radiator -2- .

Lower coolant hose
1. 4.1 Release safety clip -3- .
2. 4.2 Disconnect lower coolant hose -1- and close off line connections using suitable stoppers.
Remove front section of ATF cooling line -1- .

ATF cooling line - front section
1. 5.1 Unscrew screws on ATF cooling line -2 and 3- .
2. 5.2 Remove front section of the ATF cooling line -1- .
3. 5.3 Catch escaping ATF and e off line connections using suitable stoppers.
Remove upper coolant hose -1- and return line -2- from the radiator -3- .

Upper coolant hose
1. 6.1 Release safety clip -4- .
2. 6.2 Pull off upper coolant hose -1- and close off line connections using suitable stoppers.
3. 6.3 Release quick-connecting lock -5- and pull off return line -2- .
4. 6.4 Close off line connections using suitable stoppers.
Remove radiator -1- .

Radiator
1. 7.1 Unscrew screws -2- at the bottom of the radiator holder and remove radiator -1- by pulling it forward.
