Replacing Crankshaft Sealing Ring (Flywheel Side)

NOTIFICATION 

Dirt and contamination 

• Risk of damage to units or components 
  1. → Protect components from dirt and contamination.
  2. → Clean or replace dirty components.

1. Remove crankshaft flywheel sealing ring -1-  .

   Removing flywheel sealing ring

   1. 1.1  > T20143 - Extractor tool-2-  must be fitted carefully between crankshaft flywheel sealing ring -1-  and crankshaft flange.
   2. 1.2  Carefully lever out crankshaft flywheel sealing ring -1-  . If necessary, reattach at the opposite position.
2. Clean sealing faces on crankshaft and lower chain housing cover.
3. Push new  crankshaft flywheel sealing ring -1-  with the closed side -2-  over the sleeve -3-  from the > T10122 - insertion tool  onto the mount -4-  .

4. Fit mount -1-  with new crankshaft flywheel sealing ring -2-  on the crankshaft flange -Arrow-  . Check position of centering pin -3-  .

5. Tap in sealing ring with pressure piece -1-  as far as it will go using a plastic hammer -Arrow-  .

6. Remove the pressure piece.
