Removing Double Clutch Transmission
- Risk of squashing or crushing
→ Secure components to prevent them from falling down.
- Possible danger of injury or damage (e.g. swollen hoses, skin irritation, danger of slipping, etc.)
→ lines are opened, place a cloth underneath them!
→ Components that come into contact with ATF must be cleaned IMMEDIATELY with water! → Take appropriate protective measures (protective clothing, safety goggles, oil binding material) → Collect emerging ATF!
- Risk of squashing
→ Wear personal protective gear.
→ Get someone to help if necessary.
- Leaks at the oil pan
→ Use prescribed tools and aids.
Information
- Open connections and lines must be closed off using suitable stoppers or caps.
- Loosen screws on double clutch transmission at the top.
- 1.1 Unscrew top screws -1 to 3-
securing double clutch transmission to engine.

- 1.1 Unscrew top screws -1 to 3-
securing double clutch transmission to engine.
- Disconnect line for ATF cooling -1-
.

- 2.1 Unscrew screw -2- and nut on line bracket -3- .
- 2.2 Unscrew screw on line for ATF cooling -4- .
- 2.3 Unscrew screw securing ATF cooling line to double clutch transmission -5- .
- 2.4 Replace O-rings on line for ATF cooling.
- 2.5 Secure line for ATF cooling to prevent it from falling down.
- Loosen holder securing ATF line to engine -1-

- 3.1 Unscrew screw -2-
- Disconnect electric wire harness for transmission -1-

- 4.1 Release and disconnect cable plugs -2 and 3- .
- 4.2 Unclip clips -4- .
- Unscrew drive plate screws

- 5.1 Remove service cover -2- on double clutch transmission
- 5.2 Turn the engine at the crankshaft as far as required in direction of rotation of the engine until one drive plate screw -1- is accessible.
- 5.3 Unscrew drive plate screw -1- Get a second mechanic to counter at the crankshaft at the same time.
- 5.4 Repeat this procedure for the other drive plate screws -1- .
- Loosen the starter.

- 6.1 Unscrew screw.
- 6.2 Pull the starter away from the double clutch transmission slightly by hand and leave it at this position.

- > T40173A - Gearbox support must be prepared for use. > Gearbox support

VAS 6931 - Engine and gearbox jack
must now be fitted.
- 9.1 > T40173A - Gearbox support must now be fitted on > VAS 6931 - engine and gearbox jack .
- 9.2 > VAS 6931 - Engine and gearbox jack must be positioned under the double clutch transmission in such a way that the front mounting block engages in the service opening for the drive plate.
- 9.3 Secure double clutch transmission with a tension strap.
- Loosen transmission support -1-

Transmission support
- 10.1 Mark the position of the transmission support -1- for re-installation.
- 10.2 Unscrew screws on transmission support -2-
- Loosen locking cable on double clutch transmission.

Information
You will need a second mechanic to help you with this step.
- Remove double clutch transmission.
- 12.1 Pull double clutch transmission off the engine.
- 12.2 Carefully guide out the double clutch transmission by pulling it downwards. Make sure not to pinch or damage any components.
