Installing Left Halfshaft Flange

  1. Check sealing ring for front left halfshaft flange -1-  for damage.

    Sealing ring for front left halfshaft flange

    1. 1.1  If the sealing ring is damaged, replace the sealing ring for the front left halfshaft flange -1-  .

      > 395955 - REPLACING SEALING RING FOR FRONT HALFSHAFT FLANGE 

    2. 1.2  Half-fill the space between the sealing and dust lips with sealing grease.
  2. Install drive plate.

    > 136319 - REMOVING AND INSTALLING DRIVE PLATE

  3. Install the left halfshaft flange -1-  .

    Left halfshaft flange

    1. 3.1  Turn the drive plate until the opening fer the differential is visible,
    2. 3.2  Carefully insert the left halfshaft flange -1-  into the sealing ring as far as the step.
    3. 3.3  Fit and tighten new  screws -2-  .

      > Initial - tightening 15 Nm (11 ftlb.) 

      > Final tightening + 45°
