Removing High-Pressure Pump

WARNING: Highly inflammable or explosive materials 
  • Danger of Are or explosion 
    1. → Avoid contact with hot parts or sources of ignition.
    2. → Use suction to remove ignitable vapours.
    3. → Attach warning sign in a clearly visible position.
    4. → Contain leaked media using non-flammable absorbent material and put it in a container designed for this purpose for disposal in accordance with local requirements.
    5. → Secure collection containers/vessels to prevent them from tipping over.
WARNING: Toxic substances 
  • Danger of poisoning or suffocation 
  • Danger of burns to the eyes and si in 
    1. → Ventilate the work area well.
    2. → Never ingest or inhale.
    3. → Read specific information on the Hazard Sheet.
    4. → Wear personal protective gear.
    5. → Do not smoke, eat or drink in the work area.

NOTIFICATION 

Fuel system is pressurised 

  1. Disconnect fuel lines -1 and 2-  .
    1. 1.1  Open line clips -3-  and remove fuel lines -1 and 2-  from line clips -3-  .
    2. 1.2  Unclip fuel line -1-  from clip -4-  .
    3. 1.3  Move fuel lines -1 and 2-  aside for better access to the high-pressure pump.

  2. Disconnect fuel lines -1-  from the high-pressure pump -3-  .
    1. 2.1  Have suitable aids ready for soaking up escaping fuel.
    2. 2.2  Unscrew union nuts on fuel lines -2-  .
    3. 2.3  Disconnect fuel lines -1-  from the high-pressure pump -3-  and catch escaping fuel.
    4. 2.4  Close off line connections using suitable stoppers.

  3. Release and disconnect electric plug connection for high-pressure pump -1-  .

  4. Remove high-pressure pump -1-  .
    1. 4.1  Unscrew screws on high-pressure pump -2-  .
    2. 4.2  Remove high-pressure pump -1-  and set it down on a clean surface.
    3. 4.3  Remove roller tappet for high-pressure pump -1-  from the cylinder head.
