Installing Fuel Collection Pipe

Information
- High-pressure lines must not be bent.
- Check that connection points are not damaged and are perfectly clean and check that the screws/bolts are not seized and that there is no thread damage.
- Fit the union nuts on connection points by hand before screwing in screws or bolts.
- Dirt on the conical/ball joints must be removed.
- Connection points must be checked for leaks following assembly.
- Installation is performed in reverse order. Pay particular attention to the following:

Tighten screws on fuel collection pipe.
- Tightening torque 9 Nm (6.6 ftlb.)
- 1.2
Secure fuel line (high-pressure pump to rail).
- 1.2.1 Coat the thread of the union nuts with Microgleit DF 977S and leave to dry off for at least 5 minutes before fitting.
- 1.2.2 Align fuel line (high-pressure pump to rail) -1- correctly.
- 1.2.3 Fit union nut -2- on fuel collection pipe by hand.
- 1.2.4 Only at the right on high-pressure pump to rail:
Fit union nut -3- on high-pressure pump by hand.
- 1.2.5
Tighten union nut -2-
using > V.A.G 1331/6 - open end spanner insert, a/f 17
.
- tightening torque of 10 Nm (7.4 ftlb.)
- Torque angle 60°
- 1.2.6 Only at the right on high-pressure pump to rail:
Tighten union nut -3- on high-pressure pump using > V.A.G 1331/6 - open end spanner insert, a/f 17 .
- tightening torque of 10 Nm (7.4 ftlb.)
- Torque angle 60°
Fuel line (high-pressure pump to rail)
- 1.1
Tighten screws on fuel collection pipe.
