Installing C-Pillar Reinforcement

Information 

Adhesive must not be applied to areas to be plug-welded or fully welded using inert gas.

  1. Install outer C-pillar and check that it fits perfectly. Check gap dimensions.

    Adhesive

    1. 1.1  Apply foam filler to the body in area

      > 5X00IN22 WORKING WITH BODY FOAM FILLER

    Make sure that all openings and gaps between the body and C-pillar reinforcement are closed off with the sealing compound.

    1. 1.2  Apply adhesive on marked areas. > Application depth 3.0 mm 

      > 5X00IN21 WORKING WITH BODY STRUCTURAL ADHESIVE PAH.071.781.00

  2. Resistance spot-weld the C-pillar reinforcement.

    1. 2.1  Plug-weld area -A -  using inert gas.
