Disassembling Rear Lid

Information 

• The number of fastening screws, fixing clips, plug connections, holders and trim panels can vary depending on equipment. 
• The illustrations for removing and installing the drive mechanism are shown only on one equipment variant and may differ from the actual equipment variant. 
• Some steps must be carried out automatically. 
• Some of the repair illustrations show only one side of the vehicle. 

1. Unscrew screws -1-  from holder for gas-filled shock absorber -2-  .

2. Unscrew screws -1-  from adjusting element -2-  .

3. Unclip caps -1-  from guide wedge -3-  and unscrew screws -2-  from guide wedge -3-  .

4. Drill out blind rivets -2-  on bracket for rear spoiler -1-  .

5. Unscrew screws -1-  from tailgate hinge -2-  .

6. Unclip stoppers and caps using a suitable tool.
7. Remove number plate bracket if necessary.
