Removing rear actuating cylinders

CAUTION: Incorrect handling of actuating cylinders
  • Actuating cylinders can burst
  • Risk of eye injuries
  • Risk of bruising

→ The actuating cylinders must be in idle state in order to remove them.
→ Open the lid fully.
→ Ensure the end position of the lid manually.
→ Secure the lid after removing the actuating cylinders to prevent it from closing accidentally.
→ Do not use force when opening he actuating cylinders due to the high internal pressure.

Information 

  1. Release and unplug electric plug connection

  2. Press rubber sleeve out of the rear lid.
  3. Guide out electric line.
  4. A second person should hold the rear lid to prevent it from closing accidentally.
  5. Remove actuating cylinder for rear lid.

    Actuating cylinder for rear lid

    1. 5.1  Insert a screwdriver between the actuating cylinder rear lid -2-  and safety clip -1-  .
    2. 5.2  Lift up the safety clip -1-  by levering the screwdriver -arrow A-  . The safety clip -1-  remains on the actuating cylinder rear lid -2-  .
    3. 5.3  Remove actuating cylinder for rear lid -2-  from the ball joint -arrow B-  .
  6. Loosen and remove the actuating cylinder rear lid on the body side in the same way.
