Removing The Front Longitudinal Member (Rear Cut)

Information 

Only make cuts in the top plate. Make sure not to damage the plate underneath when doing this.

Information 

Loosen connection points on one side only. Do not damage the sheet-metal panel underneath.

  1. Drill out the welded points in the area of the spring strut mount.

    Spotwelds

  2. Mark and make a cut on the outer front longitudinal member.

    Outside cut

    > Length 662 mm
    > Length 756 mm
  3. Mark and make cut on the inner front longitudinal member between the marked bores -Arrows-  and embossing.

    Inner cut

    > Length 795 mm
    > Length 738 mm
  4. Drill out welded points on the remaining piece on the inner longitudinal member.

    Spotwelds

  5. Heat the marked bonding areas using > V.A.G 1416 - hot-air blower  .

  6. Remove front side member
