Preparing Front Side Member For Installation

  1. Drill holes for plug-welds and blind rivet joints in the marked areas.

    front side member

    Information 

    Make sure that the bore holes A  are flush with the connection areas of the reinforcement for the longitudinal member.

    1. 1.1  Drill holes for plug-welding in area -LHD vehicle-  using a drill bit with a diameter of > Diameter 8.0 mm 
    2. 1.2  Drill holes for blind rivet joints in area -RHD vehicle-  using a drill bit with a diameter of > Diameter 6.5 mm 
  2. Prepare front side member, reinforcement and mounting for bonding, welding and blind riveting.

    Front impact absorber mounting

    Red Plug-welding/apply a full steel weld without bonding
    Yellow Resistance spot-welding + bonding
    Green Resistance spot-welding
    Orange Blind riveting + bonding
