Removing Tie-Rod Ball

If installed on the vehicle: Remove air guide for brake disc -1- .

Air guide for brake disc
1. 1.1 Cut the arms of the clamp -2- at the marked positions -Arrows- .
2. 1.2 Remove air guide for brake disc -1- .
Loosen tie-rod ball -1- on the tie rod -2- .

Tie-rod ball on tie rod
1. 2.1 Loosen nut on tie-rod ball -3- and counter at the tie-rod ball -1- at the same time.
2. 2.2 Check whether the tie rod -2- can be turned in the tie-rod ball -1- . If necessary, mark the position and make sure the tie rod -2- moves smoothly.
Loosen tie-rod ball -3- from the wheel bearing housing -2- .

Tie-rod ball on wheel bearing housing
1. 3.1 Unscrew nut -3- as far as required on joint pin -4- for tie-rod ball -1- until it is flush with the upper edge of the joint pin -4- .
2. 3.2 Press off joint pin -4- for tie-rod ball -1- using > T40010 - ball joint puller .
3. 3.3 Unscrew nut -3- from joint pin -4- on the tie-rod ball -1- , counter at the hexagon socket of the joint pin -4- and remove tie-rod ball -1- from the wheel bearing housing -2- .
Remove tie-rod ball -1- .

1. 4.1 Mark the position of the tie-rod ball -1- on the tie rod -2- .
2. 4.2 Unscrew tie-rod ball -1- from the tie rod -2- .
