Disassembling Steering Wheel

Loosen rear cover -1- .

Rear cover
1. 1.1 Unscrew screws on rear cover -2- .
2. 1.2 Carefully detach rear cover -1- slightly from the steering wheel.
Release locking lug -arrow- and lift control unit -1- slightly and pull it forward so that the locking lug -arrow- can no longer lock by itself.

Remove rear cover -1- from the steering wheel.

Loosen paddles -2- .

Paddles
1. 4.1 Unscrew screws on the paddles -1- .
2. 4.2 Detach paddles -2- from the steering wheel.
Remove paddles.

Electric plug connections for paddles
1. 5.1 Release and disconnect electric plug connections for paddles -1- .
2. 5.2 Remove paddles.
Unclip rear trims at positions -Arrows- using a suitable thin tool, e.g. a feeler gauge.

Removing rear trims
Only for vehicles with heated steering wheel:
Release and disconnect electric plug connection for heated steering wheel switch -1- on the rear trim -2- .

Electric plug connections for multi-functional switch
1. 10.1 Release and disconnect electric plug connections for multi-functional switch -1- .
2. 10.2 Lift main trim -2- up and remove it.
Remove driving mode switch -1- .

Driving mode switch
1. 11.1 Loosen driving mode switch -1- from the steering wheel -2- .
2. 11.2 Release and disconnect electric plug connection for driving mode switch -3- .
3. 11.3 Remove driving mode switch -1- .
Remove multi-functional switch -2- and front trim -3- from main trim.

1. 12.1 Remove screws -1- .
2. 12.2 Remove multi-functional switch -2- .
3. 12.3 Remove front trim -3- .
Disconnect electric plug connections -1- from connector lugs.

1. 14.1 Unscrew screws on contact bridge -1- .
2. 14.2 Remove contact bridge -2- .
Disconnect electric wire harness -2- .

1. 15.1 Release and disconnect electric plug connection -1- .
2. 15.2 Only for vehicles with heated steering wheel:
  Release and disconnect the electric plug connection for the heated steering wheel at the control unit -3- .
Remove electric wire harness -1- .
