Removing Dashboard Bracket

Information 

• The number of fastening screws, fixing clips, plug connections, holders and trim panels can vary depending on equipment. 
• The illustrations for removing and installing the drive mechanism are shown only on one equipment variant and may differ from the actual equipment variant. 
• Some steps must be carried out automatically. 
• Some of the repair illustrations show only one side of the vehicle. 

Information 

The help of another person is required for steps 7 to 7.3.

1. Cover centre console with protective mat.
2. Unclip air guide -1-  at the air conditioner and remove it.

   Air guides

   1. 2.1  Unclip air guide -2-  at the air conditioner and remove it.
   2. 2.2  Unclip electric line -3-  at bracket for passenger's airbag unit and remove bracket -4-  .
   3. 2.3  Unscrew screw -5-  on bracket.
3. Unscrew screws -1-  on bracket.

   Supports

   1. 3.1  Unscrew screws -2-  and remove the holder -3-  .
4. Unscrew screws -1, 2 and 3-  on air conditioner.

   Mounting for air conditioning unit

5. Carry out all steps required for loosening the dashboard wire harness from the bracket.

6. Unscrew screws -1-  .

   Mounting for dashboard bracket

   1. 6.1  Unscrew screw -2-  .
   2. 6.2  Screw off nuts -3-  .
   3. 6.3  Unscrew screw -4-  .
7. Press air conditioner -1-  in direction of arrow -Arrow-  using a suitable tool and guide retaining lug -2-  out of the bracket -3-  .

   Dashboard bracket

   1. 7.1  Carefully pull support -4-  forward until the support -4-  is removed fully at the studs -5-  .
   2. 7.2  Pad the strut -6-  with foam to prevent damage to the windscreen.
   3. 7.3  Carefully lift up the support -4-  and remove it.
