Cut variants

Information

Cuts can be made in the defined a eat in the outer side member due to the parts dimensions. The purpose of the different cuts is to keep the repair area as small as possible in the event of damage.

The diagram should help you to determine the correct position of cuts.

A-B-C	Cuts for replacing outer side member.
	> 514555 REPLACING OUTER SIDE MEMBER
B-C-D	Cuts for replacing centre side member.
E-F	Cuts for replacing B-pillar.

D	> Distance 60 mm
E	> Distance 23 mm
F	> Distance 75 mm

Information

Only make cuts in the top plate. Make sure not to damage the plate underneath when doing this.

Information

Mark cuts B, C and D in accordance with the new part. Make sure to leave an overlap of approx. 3 cm with respect to the body.

Drill out spotwelds using > VAS 882 001 - spot-weld breaker .

Remove centre side member.

2.1 Heat bonding areas using > V.A.G 1416 - hot-air blower .
2.2 Bend up edge of wheel arch -A- .

2.3 Remove centre side member.
