Installing Outer Side Member

Information 

• Before final assembly, make sure you fully understand all the work steps involved and carry out a trial assembly without applying adhesive. 
• The bonding process can only be carried out reliably when a smooth and swift sequence of operations is guaranteed. 
• Do not begin bonding work until all mater ia s and tools necessary for later repair work are available. 

Information 

Adhesive must not be applied to areas to be plug-welded or fully welded using inert gas.

1. Install outer side member and check that it fits perfectly. Check gap dimensions.

   > 5X00IN GAP DIMENSIONS

   1. 1.1  Apply adhesive on the areas marked in yellow. > Application depth 3.0 mm

2. Apply adhesive in area -A-  , making sure that no adhesive gets onto the connection areas for resistance spot-welding.

3. Resistance spot-weld the outer side member.
   1. 3.1  Resistance spot-weld area -A-  .
   2. 3.2  Flange area -B-  on the edge of the wheel arch.

4. Apply a full weld to the outer side member using inert gas -Arrows-  .
