Removing B-Pillar Reinforcement

  1. Cut a window into the outer B-pillar/roof pillar in the upper B-pillar area.

    Information 

    Only make cuts in the top plate. Make sure not to damage the plate underneath when doing this.

    Information 

    Mark cuts X, Y and Z  in accordance with the new part. Make sure to leave an overlap of approx. 3 cm with respect to the body.

    1. 1.1  Mark and make cuts.

      > Distance 80 mm 

      > Distance 110 mm 

      > Distance 90 mm 

    2. 1.2  Drill out spot-welds using a > VAS 882 001 - spot-weld remover  .

      Upper B-pillar section

  2. Make a rough cut -Arrows-  through the B-pillar reinforcement and inner B-pillar.
    1. 2.1  Drill out spot-welds using a > VAS 882 001 - spot-weld remover  .
    2. 2.2  Remove remaining pieces of B-pillar reinforcement.

  3. Drill out spot-welds using a > VAS 882 001 - spot-weld remover  .
    1. 3.1  Remove remaining pieces -1-  of inner B-pillar.
