Preparing A-Pillar For Installation

Information

Shorten the wing attachment strip to prevent an overlap in the welded area on the A-pillar.

Fit in A-pillar.

1.1 Cut the A-pillar at the points where it joins the body, leaving an overlap of 30 mm.
1.2 Fit in A-pillar again.

1.3 Make cuts through the A-pillar and body in the overlap areas.

Cut back the wing rail -1- . > Dimension x 90 mm

Prepare connection areas for bonding and welding.

A-pillar

Orange	Resistance spot-welding
Green	Resistance spot-welding + bonding
Blue	Bonding
Red	Plug-welding/apply a full weld using inert gas without bonding

Prepare wing rail.

4.1 Make cut -LHD vehicle- .

4.2 Drill holes for plug-welding in the marked areas on the rail using > Diameter 8.0 mm .
