Removing Upper Front Roof Frame

Information

Loosen connection points on one side only. Do not damage the sheet-metal panel underneath.

Roughly cut out upper and lower part of roof frame -Arrows- .

Upper front roof frame

Remove remaining pieces -1- of top half of roof frame.

2.1 Drill through spotwelds using a > VAS 882 001 - spot-weld breaker .
Information

Drill out spotwelds A through two plate thicknesses.
2.2 Drill through spotwelds in area -LHD vehicle - using a > VAS 882 001 - spot-weld breaker .
2.3 Heat bonding areas using > V.A.G 1416 - hot-air blower .

2.4 Remove remaining pieces -1- of top half of roof frame.

Remove remaining pieces of bottom half of roof frame.

3.1 Drill through spotwelds using a > VAS 882 001 - spot-weld breaker .

3.2 Remove remaining pieces of bottom half of roof frame.
