Removing Roof

Information 

Only make cuts in the top plate. Make sure not to damage the plate underneath when doing this.

Information 

Loosen connection points on one side only. Do not damage the sheet-metal panel underneath.

• During separation make sure that the components beneath are not damaged. 

1. Drill out spotwelds using > VAS 882 001 - spot-weld breaker  .

2. Heat bonding areas using a > V.A.G 1416 - hot-air blower  and remove adhesive.

3. Affix adhesive tape -1-  along the edge of the roof on both sides at dimension -X-  . > Distance 15 mm + 2 mm 

   Adhesive tape serves as cut line.

4. Make cut on both sides.
5. Heat connection areas using > V.A.G 1416 - hot-air blower  .

6. Remove roof (with the help of two people).
7. Remove remaining pieces of roof.
   1. 7.1  Cut off laser soldered joints on side panels.
   2. 7.2  Remove remaining pieces.
