Disassembling Front Apron (Basic)

Information 

• The number of fastening screws, fixing clips, plug connections, holders and trim panels can vary depending on equipment. 

• The illustrations for removing and installing the drive mechanism are shown only on one equipment variant and may differ from the actual equipment variant. 
• Some steps must be carried out automatically. 
• Some of the repair illustrations show only one side of the vehicle. 

1. Remove number plate cover.

2. Remove front wire harness.

3. Only for USA vehicles: 

   Remove side marker light.

4. Remove auxiliary headlights.

5. Remove radiator grille.

6. Remove ParkAssist sensors.

7. Remove front spoiler.

8. Unclip side vane -1-  at the locking lugs -2-  .

9. Unclip side trim -1-  at the locking lugs -2-  .

10. Unclip lower trim -1-  at the locking lugs -2-  .

11. Remove expanding clip -1-  and remove reinforcement -2-  from the front apron (basic).

12. Unclip cover on towing lug -1-  and guide out the bracket -2-  .
