Installing Transfer Gear

Information 

There are different types of grease for the splines on the transfer gear.

These must not be mixed, so it is absolutely essential to clean any remaining grease off completely.

  1. Installation is performed in reverse order. Pay particular attention to the following:
    1. 1.1  Clean splines on the transfer gear. The splines must be completely free of grease.
    2. 1.2  Grease splines on the transfer gear.
    3. 1.3  Screw in new  screws on transfer gear -1 to 5-  as far as they will go by hand.
    4. 1.4  Tighten screws on transfer gear in the sequence -1 to 5-  .
      1. 1.4.1  Tighten screws -1, 2, 3 and 5-  to the specified initial tightening torque.
        • Initial tightening 50 Nm (37 ftlb.) 
      2. 1.4.2  Tighten screw -4-  to the specified initial tightening torque.
        • Initial tightening 40 Nm (30 ftlb.) 
      3. 1.4.3  Tighten screws -1 to 5-  .
        • Final tightening + 90°
