Installing Cylinder Head - Right Cylinder Bank

1. 1.1  Clean sealing faces on the cylinder head -11-  and cylinder block.
2. 1.2  Fit new  cylinder-head gasket on the cylinder block.
3. 1.3  Carefully position cylinder head -11-  on the new cylinder-head gasket.
4. 1.4  Screw in screws on the cylinder head as far as they will go by hand and tighten in the following sequence: Screws on cylinder head -1 to 8-  :

• Initial tightening 30 Nm (22 ftlb.) 
• Tightening torque 50 Nm (37 ftlb.) 
• Torque angle + 90° 
• Final tightening + 90° 

Screws on cylinder head -9-  :

• Initial tightening 10 Nm (7.5 ftlb.) 

Screws on cylinder head -10-  :

• Initial tightening 8 Nm (6 ftlb.) 

Screws on cylinder head -9-  :

• Torque angle + 90° 

Screws on cylinder head -10-  :

• Torque angle + 90°

Guide rail for right cylinder head

1. 2.1  Fit guide rail -1-  .
2. 2.2  Fit and tighten bearing pins -2-  .

• Initial tightening 5 Nm (3.5 ftlb.) 
• Torque angle + 45°

Front coolant pipe - right cylinder bank

1. 3.1  Fit front coolant pipe -1-  with a new O-ring.
2. 3.2  Fit and tighten screw -2-  .

• Tightening torque 9 Nm (6.5 ftlb.)

Side coolant pipe - right cylinder bank

1. 4.1  Fit side coolant pipe -1-  with a new O-ring.
2. 4.2  Fit and tighten screw -2-  .
   • Tightening torque 9 Nm (6.5 ftlb.)

Additional coolant pump

1. 5.1  Fit additional coolant pump with coolant lines.
2. 5.2  Fit and tighten screw for coolant flange -2-  .
   • Tightening torque 9 Nm (6.5 ftlb.) 
3. 5.3  Fit and tighten screws on coolant line holder -1-  .
   • Tightening torque 9 Nm (6.5 ftlb.)
