Installing Wheel Bearing Housing
WARNING: This page is about a different variant/trim than selected.
WARNING:
Wheel bearing housing raised incorrectly
- Risk of crushing
- Risk of damage to components
→ Wear personal protective gear.
→ Do not raise the wheel suspension higher than the normal vehicle position (vehicle resting on wheels).
Information
Threaded joints must only be tightened in zero position to prevent warping in the bearings.
- Installation is performed in reverse order. Pay particular attention to the following:
- 1.1 Replace nut on control arm joint pin.
- 1.2 Replace nut on clamp securing upper axle bearing to wheel bearing housing.
- 1.3 Replace screw on clamp securing upper axle bearing to wheel bearing housing.
- 1.4 Replace screw on clamp securing lower axle bearing to wheel bearing housing.
- 1.5 Replace screw and nut on spring strut fork.
- 1.6 Replace nut on joint pin for tie-rod ball.
- 1.7 Replace screw on drive shaft and screw in new screw for drive shaft by hand.
- 1.8 Before tightening the screws: Lift wheel suspension to zero position using >
