Disassembling Rear Shock Absorber (Pasm)

Information 

The release tools are contained in the following tool sets:

  1. Unpin connector housing using VAS 1978/7A  (primary release) and VAS 1978/17  (secondary release).
  2. Pull off grommet for connector housing and spring-strut mount.
  3. Clamp shock absorber in a vice using aluminium protective jaws.
  4. Unscrew nut using > 3353 - socket-wrench insert-1-  and counter at the hexagon on the piston rod at the same time.

    Nut on piston rod (PASM)

  5. Remove spring-strut mount with rubber stop and boot.
  6. Pull rubber stop out of the spring-strut mount and boot.
  7. Release shock absorber from the vice.
