Installing Seat Position Sensor

Information
The greatest care must be used in the individual work steps for stripping insulation from, crimping, and shrinking/insulating the electric lines.
The procedure for stripping insulation from, crimping, and shrinking/insulating the electric lines must be complied with and observed. The procedures are described in detail in the > VAS 1978/35-20 - Release Tool Set .
Crimping samples must be prepared before beginning work.
- Crimp seat position sensor onto the wire harness. > VAS 1978/35-20 - Release tool set
- Insulate crimp points with shrink-fit hose.
- Wrap fabric tape around the wire harness in the shrink-fit hose area.WARNING: Incorrect handling of safety bolts
- Danger of injury
- Loss of torque
- → Always use new screws or nuts following removal.
- → Comply with instructions for repairs.
- → Observe specified tightening torques.
- → Carry out a visual inspection of parts used.
- Position new fastening screw with seat position sensor and tighten to > Tightening torque 1.1 Nm (0.6 ftlb.) .
- Clip line bracket -2- with electric wire harness -1- onto the seat frame.
