Removing Passenger's Airbag Unit

WARNING:
Improper handling of airbag units
- Triggering of airbag unit .
- System faults can occur

- → Remove ignition key or remote control (hand-held transmitter) and keep it outside of the transmission range.
- → External power supply must be de-energised.
- → Disconnect the battery and isolate the ground strap so that all contact with a ground carrier is avoided.
- → Wait 1 minute after disconnecting the battery.
- → Only pull off connector on the triggering unit after the waiting time has elapsed.
- → Keep space in front of the airbag unit free.
- → Replace damaged parts.
- → Always set airbag units down with the blow-out opening facing upwards.
- → Do not place any objects on the airbag units.
- → Store airbag units in a safe place.
- → Avoid contact with grease, oil, detergents, liquids or similar substances.
- → Store airbag units in a cool place. Maximum temperature: 90°C.
Information
Dispose of replaced and non-ignited airbag and seat-belt pretensioner units in accordance with local legal requirements and transport regulations.
