Disassembling Centre Console

WARNING: This page is about a different variant/trim than selected.
  1. Remove KESSY/PAS antenna (on centre console).

    > 966719 REMOVING AND INSTALLING KESSY/PAS ANTENNA (ON CENTRE CONSOLE)

  2. Remove USB/IPOD control unit.

    > 919319 REMOVING AND INSTALLING USB/IPOD CONTROL UNIT

  3. Remove console cover.

    > WM, 681919 REMOVING AND INSTALLING UPPER PART OF CENTRE CONSOLE COVER 

  4. Unscrew screws -1-  on both sides and unclip grab handle at the left -2-  and right by pulling them forward -Arrow-  .

  5. Remove trim -1-  from grab handle -2-  .

    1. 5.1 Unclip -Arrow A-  trim -1-  from grab handle -2-  .
    2. 5.2 Unclip -Arrow B-  trim -1-  from grab handle -2-  and remove it from the grab handle -2-  .
  6. Remove trim element -1-  .

  7. Remove trims -1 and 2-  .

    Left and right trims

    1. 7.1 Unclip trims -1 and 2-  at the front -Arrow A-  .
    2. 7.2 Unclip trims -1 and 2-  at the top -Arrow B-  .
    3. 7.3 Remove trim panels -1 and 2-  .
  8. Lift up and remove trims -1-  .

    Trims

    Information 

    Before getting started, remove the fuse for the 12-Volt socket.

    Left-hand drive: Fuse A9 in fuse holder C on fuse box on left of dashboard

    Trailing arm: Fuse A5 in fuse holder F on fuse box in dashboard, right

  9. Remove cover with cupholder.

    Information 

    The use of the 12-Volt socket will be damaged irreparably during removal.

    Replace insert during installation.

    1. 9.1 Loosen 12-volt socket.
      1. 9.1.1 Socket insert -1-  must now be pulled off.

      2. 9.1.2 Release locking lugs -2-  on the 12-Volt socket -1-  .

        Insert a small screwdriver into the gap at the locking lugs.

        Open up the plate by turning the screwdriver.

      3. 9.1.3 Pull 12-volt socket -1-  up as far as possible.

    2. 9.2 Unclip cover -1-  with cupholder.

    3. 9.3 Lift up cover with cup holder as far as possible.
    4. 9.4 Disconnecting plug connection -2-  on 12-volt socket -1-  .

    5. 9.5 Remove cover with cup holder.
    6. 9.6 Remove 12-volt socket.
    7. 9.7 Release light ring -1-  .

    1. 9.7.1 Press locking lug -2-  .
    2. 9.7.2 Remove light ring -1-  .
  10. Unclip storage compartment -1-  .
