Installing High-Pressure Pump

Information 

• Replace O-ring. 

1. Insert roller tappet into the cylinder head.
2. Turn the crankshaft until the roller tappet is set to the lowest point.
3. Insert high-pressure pump and screw in screws by hand.
4. Coat thread on union nuts for fuel line (high-pressure pump to rail) with Microgleit DF 977S. Observe a drying time of at least 5 minutes before fitting.
5. Install fuel line from high-pressure pump to rail and make sure it is not strained.

   > Removing and installing fuel line (V8 biturbo) 

6. Tighten screws on high-pressure pump -4-  to. > Tightening torque 12 Nm (9 ftlb.)

7. Install low-pressure line. -2-

   1. 7.1  Position low pressure line. -2- 
   2. 7.2  Fit union nut on low-pressure line -1-  by hand.
   3. 7.3  Tighten union nut on low-pressure line -1-  to > Initial tightening 8 Nm (6 ftlb.)  and. > Final tightening + 50° 
8. Install sound absorber. -1-

9. Clip electric plug connection for high-pressure pump -1-  and lock it.
