Removing Ignition Coils For Cylinders 1 To 4

Information
Poorly accessible electrical connectors (e.g. on fuel injectors) can be released with the > 3438 - hook .
-I- Pull out the fuse -1- with the > 3438 - hook-2-Arrow A- .
-II.- Actuate the locking mechanism -3- with the > 3438 - hook-2-Arrow B- and pull off electrical connector -4- at the same time -Arrow C- .
Using special tool VAG 3438
- Expose cable duct.
Bracket for torque support and vent line
- 1.1 Unscrew screws -1 and 2- and remove torque support bracket -3- .
- 1.2 Release and disconnect vent line -4- on the oil mist separator.
- Detach cable duct.
Cable duct 1-4
- 2.1 Release and disconnect electric plug connections for ignition coils for cylinders 1 to 4 -1- .
- 2.2 Release and disconnect electric plug connections for injector valves for cylinders 1 to 4 -2- with > 3438 - hooks .
- 2.3 Release and disconnect electric plug connections for solenoid hydraulic valve for valve lift control for outlet camshaft -3- .
- 2.4 Release and disconnect electric plug connections for solenoid hydraulic valve for valve lift control for intake camshaft -4- .
- 2.5 Release and disconnect electric plug connection for fuel pressure sensor -5- .
- 2.6 Unscrew nuts on cable duct -6- .
- 2.7 Lift cable duct as far as necessary for the ignition coils to be accessible.
- Remove ignition coils for cylinders 1 to 4 -2-

- 3.1 Unscrew screws on ignition coils -1- .
- 3.2 Remove ignition coils -2- .
