Preliminary Work

  1. Connect a battery charger.

    > 2X00IN TRICKLE CHARGING 12-VOLT LITHIUM-ION BATTERY

  2. Perform Tester routine Drain coolant. 
    1. 2.1  Switch on ignition, start the PIWIS Tester  and connect it to the vehicle.
    2. 2.2  Start the diagnostic application and select Engine electronics (DME)  in the control unit search screen.
    3. 2.3  Switch to the Maintenance/repairs  menu item, select the function Work on the high-temperature cooling system  and press F12 to confirm your selection.
    4. 2.4  Select the procedure for draining and filling coolant  and follow the instructions on the Tester.
    5. 2.5  Switch off ignition and remove the PIWIS Tester. 
  3. Remove battery charger.
  4. Disconnect the battery/vehicle electrical system.

  5. Open the cap on the coolant reservoir.
  6. Screw adapter K65  from > 9696 - filling device  onto the coolant reservoir.
