Removing Cooling Fan Housing

Unscrew screws -1- , guide release element -2- up and out and set it aside.

Remove radiator cover -1- .

Radiator cover
1. 2.1 Press in clips -2- and pull radiator cover -1- up and off.
Release and disconnect electric plug connections for radiator fans -1 and 2- .

You will need a second mechanic to help you with this step.
Loosen cooling fan housing -1- from the mountings.

Cooling fan housing
1. 4.1 Release the two locking lugs -2- at the same time on the side of the radiator -arrow A- and lift cooling fan housing -1- up out of the guide -arrow B- .
Relieve pressure in the cooling system.

Coolant reservoir cap
1. 5.1 Carefully open cap -1- on the coolant reservoir and then close it again.
Release and disconnect vent line -1- and collect emerging coolant using suitable cleaning aids.

Coolant connections at top of radiator
1. 6.1 Close off line connections using suitable stoppers.

Removing cooling fan housing
1. 7.1 Release retaining clips for radiator -2- and remove upwards.
2. 7.2 Get a second mechanic to carefully pull the radiator -1- forward -Arrow- to make more room for removing the cooling fan housing.
3. 7.3 Guide cooling fan housing up and out.
